Award winning services at Wishaw General Hospital
On behalf of NHS Lanarkshire, Serco provides award winning integrated facilities management services to Wishaw General Hospital. Serco’s team of 380 staff deliver a range of non-medical support services across the 64,000 SQ metres of hospital space. The team are keeping the wards clean, providing healthy food for recovering patients, maintaining the building and grounds in a good condition and supplying security for patients.
The impressive track record for standards of cleanliness and efficiency is doing much to reduce hospital born infections, such as MRSA. Already the services are widely acclaimed as exemplary and a number of national awards have been received.

- Out of 28 hospitals in Scotland, Wishaw General Hospital topped the league in the first NHS Scotland, National Cleaning Services Specification, Quarterly Compliance report as the Cleanest Hospital in first HNSiS survey of Hospitals – scoring 98.8%, and have maintained scores in the top quartile in subsequent audits
