From the cleaning services that we carry out at over 50 sites on behalf of the Scottish Government - stretching from the Shetland, to the islands of Benbecula and Skye to the largest single government office at Victoria Quay in Edinburgh - to the partnerships with Scottish local authorities, Serco is passionate about service improvement. This breadth of experience gives our partners in local and central government a confidence in our ability to ensure ongoing innovation, value and quality of delivery.
We are partnering with ambitious Scottish local authorities that are committed to delivering truly radical service improvement, at the best possible value to their citizens, communities and businesses. These pioneering ventures are shaping services to the specific demographics and needs of the Scottish public - helping to give citizens fast and easy access to council services, regenerating local communities and restoring civic pride. For example, our work with Glasgow City Council to overhaul their finance and HR systems, has helped the Council to achieve savings of £1.8 million - important cash savings to be redeployed into essential frontline services.
In the private sector, Serco is helping to improve services for businesses across Scotland, enabling them to be successful and contribute to a prosperous Scottish economy. For example, we are working with Starwood - one of the world's premier hotel and leisure companies - to deliver a range of facilities management services at two famous Scottish 5 Star Hotels - the Westin Turnberry Resort and the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh. While guests are enjoying their stay, Serco is working behind the scenes to deliver services that are critical to the hotels smooth running, including finance and administration, customer service, and recycling. The proven high quality service delivered by Serco's onsite team has since led to them being asked to provide solutions to other areas of the business.
Importantly, we don't judge the results ourselves, we leave that to the citizens and customers who use the services we design and deliver. Our performance is measured on their levels of satisfaction alone.
