Helping

transform patient care for Scottish citizens

Improving Citizens' Health

Serco is working hard to transform and improve patient care for Scottish citizens through provision of a range of health services in partnership with NHS Scotland.

At Wishaw General Hospital, Serco runs the non-medical facilities - keeping the wards clean, providing healthy food for recovering patients, maintaining the building and grounds in a good condition and supplying security for patients and staff.

With cleanliness an increasing concern for patients, the work at Wishaw is at the leading edge of compliance with NHS guidance and is helping NHS Scotland to eradicate hospital acquired infections. The award-winning services came out top in the first Scotland wide hospital cleanliness standards inspection - scoring 98.8%.

Serco is committed to the future vision for a robust, efficient, and patient focussed NHS health service in Scotland. By providing innovative, efficient support services, we enable hospital staff to concentrate on their core business of delivering high-quality clinical care.

For example, Serco is already set to provide a range of support services for the new NHS Forth Valley Acute Hospital. Exciting innovations, such as the introduction of Automated Guided Vehicle technology to support the movement of materials around the hospital site, will place this partnership at the leading edge of healthcare provision. By focusing on patients needs, we will be working together with NHS Forth Valley to create a hospital of which the community can be proud.
