Operational Support

Serco designs and delivers operational support to improve the availability of people and equipment worldwide

Bus

Serco provides bus operations and systems around the world.

Operations

In the USA we provide a bus transportation service to and from Washington Dulles International Airport for the US National Conservation Training Centre. The training centre is used by US Government Agencies for training seminars.

In the UK we provide specialised transport for special educational needs pupils and Social Services staff in Bradford to schools, hospitals and care centres.

Our experience in Australia includes running over 500 buses and carrying 80,000 passengers a day for the Adelaide Bus Company. The services, fully incorpated into the Adelaide Metro public transport system, utilise an integrated ticketing system allowing customers to transfer between bus, train and trams.

Serco's experience in bus operations is very diverse and includes providing on demand and scheduled services for the RAF (Ministry of Defence).

Systems

Serco has recently been awarded the bus fleet management system for Glasgow City Council. This is a fully integrated system for management and operation of Glasgow's buses. The system monitors general traffic and bus operating conditions along the routes. Using the knowledge gained, the system provides priority for buses at traffic signals and specially configured bus proirity sites such as queue relocation sites.

In Australia Serco provides journey timetable and fare information for all modes of public transport in the South East region of Queensland. The system encompasses more than thirty operators and handles over 60,000 calls per month.

Major towns in the UK, including Birmingham, Coventry and Sheffield use Serco's real time passenger information on next bus arrival times.
