Transforming Adult services at the London Borough of Greenwich


Social workers in Greenwich were struggling to keep up with the number of assessments they needed to complete and felt they were wasting time on administration tasks when they could be working with customers.

Serco reviewed Greenwich’s Single Assessment Process and by developing new mobile methods for capturing data, and training the practitioners we were able to deliver significant efficiency gains. 

Benefits realised to date include:

  • Number of assessments delivered increased dramatically
  • Admin time reduced from 70 minutes to 15 minutes
  • Reduction in the cost of assessment from £120 to £45 per assessment
  • Flexible working: staff can work in the field or at home
  • Reduction in the time for clients to receive their assessment details from over 50 hours to immediately       

Transforming the customer experience at Wiltshire County Council

At Wiltshire County Council we transformed the customer experience, helping the Council save £2 million per year, and improving the CPA score from ‘Fair to ‘Good’.
