Serco appoints David Richardson as Economic Development & Marketing Director of Solutions Division
Serco today announced the appointment of David Richardson as economic development & marketing director of its Solutions division which is responsible for IT-enabled transformation and service delivery in the public sector.
David joins the Solutions division from Serco Science, where he founded Serco TTI, the business unit focused on economic development.
David was instrumental in winning Serco’s contracts to deliver the Businesslink.gov programme, which helps more than more than 5 million companies annually to access business critical advice. He also led Serco’s successful bid to the London Development Agency to deliver Business Link advisory services for the 600,000 companies in London.
Prior to his role at TTI, David spent eight years as a director of the National Physical Laboratory, focused specifically on commercial growth and knowledge transfer.
David’s role at Serco will involve crystallising Solutions’ footprint in economic development and continuing to build on the relationships already established in this area. As part of this remit, he will also be responsible for marketing and communicating Serco’s proposition and values to the markets which it serves.
Kevin Lavery, Chief Executive of Serco Solutions commented: “David’s appointment cements our strategy to continue to help public sector organisations to improve service delivery and improve citizen outcomes. David’s experience and expertise in delivering on this strategy will be invaluable moving forward.“
David Richardson commented: “I am delighted to take up this role at Serco Solutions. I am genuinely passionate about economic development and regeneration and I believe that Serco Solutions’ public service ethos, combined with domain knowledge and IT expertise, means that we are very well positioned to support the government agenda for wealth creation.”
