Lowdham Grange Prison Inspection Report

HM Chief Inspector of Prisons, Anne Owers, has published her report into Lowdham Grange Prison. A press release and the full report are available on the Prisons Inspectorate website.

In response to the report Guy Baulf, director of Lowdham Grange, said:

'I am pleased the inspection team have recognised the hard work put in by my staff to ensure Lowdham Grange prison is a safe and secure establishment where prisoners are treated with decency and humanity. Our new buildings will allow us to extend our vocational training and education courses to give prisoners a better chance of living law-abiding lives after release.

‘I believe Lowdham Grange is an excellent example of how the private sector can add real value to the prison system at a time of great population pressure. As well as providing extra capacity we are bringing innovation in security, prisoner-staff relationships and addressing re-offending.’
