PDA

PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) are wireless extensions of the Facility package that allow remote access to the central database.  The small, hand-held units can be carried to any part of the school that is covered by the wireless network so staff do not need access to a PC in order to enter or view information.

Designed to work through Facility ePortal PDAs ensure that everyone has access to up-to-the-minute data.  The units can be used to distribute information to isolated parts of the school campus or staff can carry out administration functions on them.  Teachers in remote classrooms or out on sports fields all day are no longer cut off from the rest of the school.

The PDA can be used to take registration and enter attendance figures directly into the database so they can be managed from a central point, even on split site schools.  Any information such as timetable changes, events and notices can be circulated to everyone without the delay of a paper-based system.
