Serco is a leading provider of technical services to the defence, nuclear and transport markets, combining expertise in safety assurance and risk management with systems engineering, engineering support services and training.
Our primary aim is to enable our customers to run their assets, from trains and aircraft to nuclear reactors, safely and efficiently. We deliver safety support to all operators of major nuclear sites in the UK and have provided independent safety advice on the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet for nearly half a century.
Our systems engineers develop test systems for a range of aircraft, including Merlin and Sea King helicopters, and provide networked classrooms with computer based training packages for the Royal Navy. In civil aviation, we overhauled the Airbus Wind Tunnel at Filton, completely replacing the control system that had been evolving since the facility opened in 1957.
